I got an LED lamp with remote control from Santhosh Electronics. This is going to be very useful to me as i may switch on and off the bulb as per my convenience from a distance. The remote operates under infrared led and is powerful in transmission. I tested the coverage distance of the infrared and found working at 10 meters. The lighting is good enough with the 30 nos Cool daylight white led. This product is branded OXYGEN from chennai and this one carries warranty for 15 months. Very rarely such LED products come with warranty. I am planing to mount one in office server room. A similar china product is available which has a physical switch. It requires us to switch manually. Practically this bulb is mounted at the top and there is no meaning in keeping a manual switch. Previously every time when power fails during the day time, the bulb is lit and i had to climb and switch off manually.
The backup time is expected for 3hrs. The bulb has an red led for charge indication. The White color plastic base and the white light adds attraction to the room. The life of a LED is higher when compared to other lamp. so LED lighting is cheaper comparitively.
Operation: The bulb has a manual switch to totally turn off the device receiver. When we turn on this physical switch, it turns on the receiver and enables us to switch on the light. The remote has single button switch used to switch on and off the IR transmitter. When the bulb is in charge and the AC power goes off, it stays off in the previous state. When the bulb is in charging and ON, it uses the AC power to glow. When AC power goes off, it continues to glow automatically switching to DC. Either way the bulb maintains its state.
